The value of the deal is estimated to be $1.5-2 million.
The network will be used by Sicredi Bank for both primary enterprise networking connectivity as well as back-up.
The SkyEdge II broadband satellite network will connect Sicredi Bank branches nationwide, many of which otherwise do not have access to high-speed connectivity. In areas where terrestrial networks, such as DSL and wireless, are accessible, the satellite network will provide branches with backup connectivity, ensuring high availability even in case of a failure in the wireline link.
Telespazio Brasil has been a Gilat customer since 2001.
Shares in Petah Tikva-based Gilat opened on Nasdaq at $4.64, giving a market cap of $186.2 million.
