CalAmp's customized Sentry 4G provides high-speed, long-range broadband wireless connectivity based on industrial grade IEEE 802.16e-2005 (mobile WiMAX) technology. When used as part of Elster's EnergyAxis System, it is expected to provide best-in-class performance for smart grid activities including advanced metering, demand response and distribution automation as well as mobile applications such as fleet management.
