Shanghai General Motor will import vehicles, auto parts, and equipment from GM, involving the brands like Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to the contract.
Notably, China's auto market grows rapidly this year, because of the nation's economic stimulus policies. In detail, it saw an auto sales volume of 8.33 million in the first eight months of the year, with a 29% increase year on year. And it is expected to witness an auto sales volume of 12 million by the end of the year, ranking first in the global auto market, said the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
Besides, Shanghai General Motor reached an auto sales volume of 1.11 million in the first eight months, rising 50% year on year and outpacing the total in the full year 2008.
