More than 40 companies, which participated in the establishment of the standard or backed up the standard, all celebrated the approval. The companies included Alloptic, Anritsu Company, ARRIS, B-DeltaCom, Bright House Networks, Cambridge Industries Group, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom Beijing Branch, Corecess, Cortina Systems, CyOptics, Dasan Networks, Dongwon, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and so on. 10G EPON equipment will start to be deployed in 2010, according to a forecast.
China Mobile, which flexes muscles into fixed network optical construction, set up its first 10G (EPON in cooperation with ZTE Corporation (SZSE: 000063 and SEHK: 0763) and put the network into trial commercial use.
China Mobile Jiangsu Branch and ZTE started to cooperate on EPON network construction in 2007. The two parties began to build the aforementioned 10G EPON network in July 2009 and accomplished the network deployment this August.
