PowerRating -- 9/14/209 - Myers Industries (NYSE:MYE) said Monday that it will close two facilities, consolidating operations in its Material Handling and Automotive and Custom segments. In Material Handling, the company will close one plant in Shelbyville, Kentucky that employs 88 people. The Automotive and Custom segment reduction will see the closing of a Reidsville, North Carolina plant that employs about 70 people. The facilities are expected to close by the end of 2009, and the company will make severance and outplacement support available to affected employees.
