Foote, who is chairman and chief executive of USG Corp. in Chicago, previously served as deputy chairman of the nine-member Chicago Fed board. Foote was among leaders appointed Monday to 12 regional Federal Reserve banks in the U.S.
He also is on the corporate boards of Kohler Co. and Walgreen Co.
USG Corp. is a maker and distributor of building systems for the construction industry. It is the largest manufacturer of gypsum products in North America and leading distributor of wallboard in the U.S.
Before joining USG, Foote was a senior engagement manager at McKinsey & Co. in Chicago and assistant treasurer at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York.
