UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN TO UNVEIL OUTER SPACE RIDE NEXT SPRING

of Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, announced plans Monday to
add an indoor attraction to its park next spring.

The attraction will simulate a trip to outer space, taking
visitors on a 585-meter ride to planets throughout the solar
system. The investment is estimated at 4-5 billion yen (US$55
million).

Along with the night parade introduced this past spring, the
new attraction is expected to increase visitor traffic, which
has plunged amid the slump in personal spending.
