O2Micro's case was heard by the Intellectual Property High Court in Japan (IP High Court), a court specializing in intellectual property cases in Japan. The IP High Court ruled in O2Micro's favor. The Japanese Patent Office subsequently issued a decision upholding the validity of O2Micro's patent and that decision became final on August 29, 2009.
