Minefinders Corp. (MFN, $10.65, $0.53, 5.2%) plans a bought-deal offering of 6.2 million shares at C$10.65 each to raise C$66 million.
Taseko Mines Ltd. (TGB, $2.75, $0.13, 5.0%) has made a takeover offer for Copper Mountain Mining Corp. (CUM.T, C$1.41, C$0.11, 8.5%). Specific takeover terms weren't disclosed, but Taseko said it values Copper Mountain at a "large" premium to Copper Mountain's planned C$50 million financing at C$1.15 each. Copper Mountain has rejected the proposal.
OPTI Canada Inc. (OPC.T, C$2.25, C$0.57, 34%) soared Wednesday, though there was no news to explain the sharp increase. The stock has been volatile in the past due to takeover rumors.
