WHAT: Battle of Britain Ceremony
WHERE: Canada Aviation Museum (Aviation and Rockcliffe Parkways),
Ottawa, Ontario
DATE/TIME: Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 10:15 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.

- Chief of the Air Staff, Lieutenant-General Angus Watt
Weather permitting, the ceremony will feature fly-pasts by vintage Second World War aircraft (Spitfires, Hurricanes, Avro Lancaster), several Canadian Forces aircraft and the Hawk One (F-86 Sabre - in celebration of Canada's Centennial of Flight). Veterans will march alongside serving members of Canada's Air Force and Air Cadets, with musical accompaniment by the Central Band of the Canadian Forces, Air Command Pipes and Drums.
Toward the close of the Battle of Britain ceremony, Lieutenant-General Angus Watt, Chief of the Air Staff and Commander of Air Command, will unveil the winning artwork from the Centennial of Flight Military Aviation Art Contest. He will grant a brief media opportunity immediately following the ceremony.
Public admission is free with parking available at the Canada Aviation Museum. The public is requested to be seated by 10:15 a.m. with seating provided on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Media planning to attend the ceremony are requested to notify Air Force Public Affairs by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2009. Some parking is reserved for media - follow the VIP parking signs. Media with satellite trucks are requested to arrive at the Canada Aviation Museum by 9:30 a.m., with all other media arriving by 10:00 a.m.
