Last week, executives from both Changhe Suzuki Automobile Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Chang'an Suzuki Automobile Co., Ltd., two China-based joint ventures of Japanese auto titan Suzuki Motor Corp., acknowledged that they did not have much interest in the consolidation of the three Suzuki sales networks in China. Suzuki (China) gave no comments.
The interest of Suzuki, Changhe Suzuki, Chang'an Suzuki, and dealers should be taken into account when the networks are combined. However, it seems that Suzuki benefits the most from the combination but factories and dealers are not willing to do so, said a brand planning executive of Changhe Suzuki.
Along with the combination, the sales volume of the Suzuki branded has nearly doubled in Beijing, according to a Beijing-based dealer of Changhe Suzuki. However, the separate profit of each 4S store has sharply declined, he added.
