After winning the POLE position on Friday driving the Piranha Water/Potencia Blast Energy Shot Chevy, Dillon Oliver continued his hot streak at Iowa Speedway, winning Saturday evening's ASA Late Model Series Challenge Pork 100 presented by Cookies Sauces and Seasonings.
Starting inside the fifth row, (ASALMS rules have a top ten invert drawing post qualifying) Oliver ran inside the top five for the majority of the race. As the laps wound down, he found himself in second, trailing the series point leader Brian Campbell. With eight laps remaining, caution flew and the space between Oliver and Campbell tightened. On the restart, the pair began to race each other for the win.
With four laps remaining, Campbell's car got loose in turn two, striking the wall and receiving heavy damage. The Piranha/Potencia car grazed the outside wall and cleared Campbell's car, and on the restart, completed the final four laps to take the win in front of a standing crowd of over 20,000 fans!
