Navigators Group announces management changes

Sep 22, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- NAVG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- The Navigators Group, an international insurance holding company, has promoted Christopher Duca to president and CEO of Navigators Management Company reporting to Stanley Galanski, who will serve as chairman and will continue to serve as president and CEO of The Navigators Group and the insurance company subsidiaries.

Mr Duca joined the company in 2001 and has been responsible for Navigators Management Company's (NMC) management liability, professional liability and casualty business. He will continue to maintain direct responsibility for Navigators's global management and professional liability business, and for specialty casualty business.

The company has promoted Michael Civisca to executive vice president and COO of NMC, reporting to Mr Duca. Mr Civisca joined the company in 1987 and has most recently been responsible for the marine, energy, inland marine and commercial multi-peril business of NMC.

NMC has appointed Ed Helfers as president of its marine division, reporting to Mr Civisca. Mr Helfers joined the company in 2006 to form the Inland Marine Division, which he will continue to manage.

The company has said that Lori Lowery has joined Navigators in the newly-created position as president of field operations. Ms Lowery most recently served as president of Lloyd's North America.
