Officer Tim Moses said that the robber confronted the night clerk about 4 a.m. and flashed a handgun, demanding money from the cash drawer. The clerk complied. The robber quickly left, and an apparent accomplice was seen waiting outside.
The robber was described as black, in his 30s, 5-foot-6, 160 pounds and medium build, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, large dark sunglasses and gloves.
Moses said he was last seen running south on Division Street. A police dog trail went a few blocks and then came to an end. "That tells me he got into a car and left," Moses said.
