PowerRating -- Unilever PLC (ULVR.LN), the Anglo-Dutch manufacturer of food, home care, and personal products including margarine, tea, and Dove soap, said Friday it has made a binding offer to acquire the personal care business of the Sara Lee Corporation (SLE) for EUR1.275 billion in cash.
MAIN FACTS:
-The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and consultation with European employee works councils.
-Sara Lee brands generated annual sales in excess of EUR750 million with an EBITDA of EUR128 million for the year ending June.
