Inductive power transmission has many positive aspects. It offers convenience of use, reliability, water resistance, dust resistance, etc. Most technological efforts in this field have focused on cordless phones to date. Although more than 10 million units have shipped in 2008, this technology is expected to expand into the cell phone and digital camera markets moving forward.
Ten years have passed since Toko began developing and mass-producing products that used magnetic conductance technologies for inductive power transmission. Greater efficiency in the transmission of power is the key to development of wireless power transmissions.
Toko has continued to improve transmission rates with proprietarily developed experience and expertise. Of particular importance is the coil portion, which is the key to inductive power transmission technology. Coil technology is one of Toko's strengths, and we have achieved a transmission rate of 93% between coils (as of September 1, 2009).
As a result, the overall system transmission rate for a 2.5 watt class system is now 84%.
