Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN delivered the project under an integrated design/build contract working with Mackenzie Commercial Real Estate services, LLC as project developer and lease administrator. A group of local physicians and Howard County General Hospital, A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine partnered on the ownership and operations of Medical Pavilion, which hosted a ribbon cutting and reception on Thursday, September 24, 2009.
"Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN was pleased to work with Johns Hopkins, Howard County General Hospital and local physicians on this state-of-the-art facility that brings expanded medical services to Columbia and the surrounding community," said Jeff Nicholas, President, Northeast Region for Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN.
The facility, built with the environment in mind, is registered with The United States Green Building Council with a goal of Silver Certification status for Leadership for Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). This is the largest LEED-applied Silver facility in the state of Maryland.
"We are very proud to offer this building to our community," said Michael E. Silverman, MD, Chief, Department of Internal Medicine. "The collaboration among a number of diverse practices allows us to bring a wide variety of services to the residents of our community in a convenient location."
