Sep 29, 2009 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- ACMR | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Typically, retailers tell consumers what they should want (or more accurately, what the retailer wants the consumer to buy). This week, A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts is asking consumers to tell the company what they want, with the goal of using feedback from consumers to become the ultimate craft destination. This week, the 133-store craft emporium kicks off its 24th Anniversary Celebration, themed Imagine Moore, by asking customers to imagine their ideal craft store.

"Crafters are savvy shoppers who don't want or need to be dictated to," explains A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer David Abelman. "We believe it is important to engage directly with our customers, take our direction from them and exceed their expectations."

During the 24th Anniversary Celebration, which concludes on October 3rd, A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts' management will be asking customers in every store to Imagine Moore ways A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts can meet their needs. Many customers who provide input can expect to hear back from the company as new ideas are gathered, reviewed and considered for roll-out.

During the 24th Anniversary Celebration, A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts will also be launching Crafting a Better World, an umbrella program for its corporate giving. Crafting a Better World kicks off with a partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Until November 7th, A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts stores will be hosting crafting parties for local members of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. During this time period, consumers are asked to donate new or gently used craft items at their local A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts for use at their local Boys & Girls Club, or to make a $1 donation at the cash register to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

"Crafting a Better World allows us to work with national charities to make an impact in the communities our stores serve," says Abelman. "It also empowers our customers to change the world through their love of crafting."

With 133 stores up and down the Eastern Seaboard, A.C. Moore brings families together for fun through creativity. The company offers a wide range of programs to engage adults and children in crafting, including workshops, Make & Takes, and in-store birthday parties. In addition to traditional craft goods, A.C. Moore is also well-known for its selection of scrap booking, jewelry, floral, yarn, fine art supplies, children's craft kits and educational toys, along with ready made frames and custom framing.
