"We are pleased to have Andy back with the firm," said Rhett Winchell, president of the Kennedy Wilson Auction Group. "We worked together in the past and he brings an impressive track record along with over 20 years' brokerage experience to our company and the auction division in particular," continued Winchell.
"The market has gone full circle and so too has my career," said Levant of his move back to KW. "This literally marks a return to my roots as a broker, where I first started in 1987 when Kennedy Wilson was known only as a boutique real estate auction-marketing firm," he continued.
Levant's long standing relationships with lenders, borrowers, buyers and sellers will prove to be a valuable asset for the Auction Group. In addition to procuring auction listings, Levant expects to be involved in corporate acquisitions, investment and note sales, loan restructures, and arranging both debt and equity.
Levant began his real estate career with Chicago-based VMS Realty Partners in the early to mid-1980's, during the height of the syndication era. Following VMS, Levant joined the Century City office of the JE Robert Companies as an asset manager and marketing coordinator working on several large loan portfolios from failed Savings and Loans. Levant then joined Kennedy Wilson, where, over the next 10 years, he listed and sold some 50 different condo, townhome and SFR developments throughout California and represented the company on several major acquisition and finance assignments. In 1997, Levant began the next phase of his career in commercial real estate finance, just as the industry was poised for unprecedented growth. Levant worked two years as a direct lender with Finova Realty Capital, and then moved to George Smith Partners as a commercial mortgage broker from 1999 until his recent departure in August 2009. While at GSP, Levant closed a multitude of real estate loan and sale transactions totaling in excess of $1.5 billion.
"With the capital markets in turmoil and scores of projects all across the country in trouble, the timing was ideal to return to Kennedy Wilson and further my career as a broker. Kennedy Wilson offers an exciting and diverse platform of services that enables me to draw upon all of my brokerage and finance experience and apply it to the opportunities and challenges in today's real estate markets," concluded Levant.
Founded in 1977, Kennedy Wilson is an international real estate services and investment/advisory firm headquartered in Beverly Hills, CA. It operates 21 offices in the U.S. and Japan. Kennedy Wilson seeks opportunities in partnership with clients in pursuit of above-market investor returns and increased real estate values.
