Ventas Appoints James L. Andrews VP, Hospital Business Development

Andrews has joined the Company as Vice President, Hospital Business Development. Andrews will lead the Company's capital deployment efforts with not-for-profit and for-profit hospitals and health systems. He reports to Raymond J. Lewis, Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer.

"Jim is uniquely qualified for this position because of his extensive experience and contacts in the hospital sector, coupled with his superior underwriting capabilities," said Lewis. "He will drive Ventas's expansion in not-for-profit and for-profit hospitals and health systems, where we believe there are significant opportunities to invest capital for the benefit of healthcare providers. Andrews, 62, has almost 40 years of experience in the healthcare industry, which has included business development and designing and implementing capital financing programs for hospitals. Prior to joining Ventas, Andrews most recently was a Managing Director in the Healthcare and Housing Group of Financial Security Assurance (FSA). Prior to that, he worked as a healthcare investment banker for Goldman, Sachs & Co., American Health Capital, Inc., Paine Webber/Blyth, Eastman Dillon and Atlanta National Real Estate Trust/Hospital Investors, Inc. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of North Carolina and an MBA from Georgia State University with a concentration in finance.
