The addition of LifeTrak will enable the blood center to manage donor records, including the complex donor eligibility requirements that blood centers are required to calculate. LifeTrak will also serve as the core donor management system to schedule, recruit and register donors throughout central Virginia, claims Mediware.
Ric Thomas, vice president of Virginia Blood Services's donor and technical operations, said: "Our systems platform was unable to support our current operational needs. Following a review of all the blood center technology providers, we felt that Mediware's LifeTrak provided us the best long-term solution to meet our efficiency and safety goals. Of particular interest is Mediware's ability to help us recruit new donors, manage and communicate with existing donors, and streamline our interactions with our hospital customers."
