PowerRating -- 10/5/2009-French telecommunications operator France Telecom SA (NYSE:FTE) reported Monday that the firm's deputy Chief Executive, Louis-Pierre Wenes, will step down from his position after weeks of heavy criticism over his handling of a number of suicides at the company. Wenes' position will be filled by Stephane Richard, who previously was in charge of the company's international operations and before that was chief of staff for France's finance minister. The most recent suicide came last week when a France Telecom employee jumped off a bridge to his death, leaving a note behind blaming his suicide on the environment at his office.
