Deere Announces 6-Year Agreement With UAW (DE)

(NYSE:DE) issued a press release Monday indicating that the United Auto Workers (UAW), which represents employees at 15 of its locations, notified the company that it ratified a new 6-year agreement. The agreement will go into effect October 5, 2009 and will last until the first of October 2015. "To continue building and growing a great business, John Deere must remain competitive around the world," said Samuel Allen, President and Chief Executive Officer. "This agreement is good for our employees and good for the company. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our workforce as we team together to retain our position as a leader in the various markets we serve."
