GreenHunter Energy appoints new president and COO

Oct 06, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- GRH | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- US-based diversified renewable energy company GreenHunter Energy has appointed Jonathan Hoopes as the new president and COO. Additionally, Mr Hoopes has been appointed to the company's board of directors.

Mr Hoopes is a 15-year veteran of Wall Street who has spent most of his professional career in the investment banking and financial services industry with a focus on the traditional and renewable energy sectors as well as the information technology sector.

Mr Hoopes has served in various capital markets, investment banking, and equity research roles at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and UBS in London, Hong Kong and New York. Most recently, Mr Hoopes served as managing director at Think Equity, where he led two teams of research analysts in the alternative energy and technology sectors.

Gary Evans, chairman and CEO of GreenHunter Energy, said: "Jonathan Hoopes brings global experience, a unique perspective and a new drive to GreenHunter Energy that the company needs to be a successful growth company in this sector.
