HSBC issues 64.7m ordinary shares of USD0.50 each as scrip dividend alternative

(LSE:HSBA) said on Wednesday that it has issued 64.7m ordinary shares
of USD0.50 each to shareholders who elected to receive the scrip
dividend alternative for the second interim dividend for 2009.
The shares rank pari passu with HSBC existing issued ordinary shares
and will be paid on 7 October 2009.
HSBC has applied to the Financial Services Authority for the admission
of the shares to the Official List and to the London Stock Exchange and
trading, which is also expected to start on 7 October 2009.
