OPTC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Advanced video surveillance services provider Optelecom-NKF has won a
major traffic management technology contract in Spain. Optelecom-NKF,
in partnership with Spanish IT services provider Indra Sistemas, will
design and deploy a combined traffic monitoring and automatic incident
detection (AID) system in the 949m El Fresno Tunnel. The tunnel is
located along the A-63 highway in the Principality of Asturias, in the
north of Spain. No financial details on the contract have been
disclosed. The local IP/Ethernet network system at the El Fresno Tunnel
will use 18 Siqura TrafficServers, multiple Siqura dome cameras,
located at tunnel entrances, and 22 fixed cameras spanning the interior
of the tunnel to stream real-time video to a central control room. The
TrafficServer tool will provide traffic management and incident
detection. The product blends incident detection, traffic data
collection, and camera monitoring in a single, temperature-hardened
module. The TrafficServer also provides real-time data and image
information for traffic control and accurate incident detection.
