System passenger traffic (revenue passenger miles) for the month rose by 11.9% compared to September 2008 and capacity (available seat miles) grew by 9.3%.
Domestic passenger traffic in Chile, Argentina, Peru and Ecuador for September 2009 increased by 17.5% compared to the same month of last year, while capacity rose by 15.0%, resulting in a growth in load factor of 1.6 percentage points at 77.0%.
International passenger traffic for September 2009 improved by 9.8% compared to September 2008 while capacity rose by 7.1%, resulting in an increase in load factor of 1.9 percentage points at 79.6%. International traffic accounted for around 71% of LAN's total passenger traffic.
