Family members, colleagues and friends gathered at the facility on October 2 to honor and remember Taylor at the building dedication ceremony.
"As the newest addition to Artesian, this building is effectively the nerve center of our company," said Joseph DiNunzio, Executive Vice President of Artesian Resources. "Given Norman's paramount concern for, and meticulous attention to, efficient and reliable operations, it is quite fitting that this building bears his name."
During the dedication, Dian C. Taylor, President and CEO of Artesian Resources and sister of Norman H. Taylor, Jr., reflected on the company's accomplishments generated by Norman's efforts. "Throughout our history we have earned things the old fashioned way; through hard work, commitment to our customers and a focus on getting things done," she said. "Norman instituted these standards everyday and helped Artesian prosper and continually grow."
Taylor contributed significantly to the Company's considerable growth during his time as an Artesian manager, dedicating himself to the Company's daily operations. In 2001, he became a member of the Board of Directors of Artesian Resources Corporation and its subsidiaries.
In addition to his dedication to Artesian, Taylor was an avid outdoorsman and environmentalist, and participated annually in the Christina River Watershed Clean-up. He led volunteers as a site captain for the Churchmans Marsh area near the Company's headquarters.
Norman H. Taylor, Jr. passed away in December 2007. He was the great-grandson of Artesian Water Company founder Aaron K. Taylor, the beloved brother of President and CEO Dian C. Taylor and father of Vice President and Board Member Nicholle R. Taylor.
