Oct 10, 2009 (The Columbian - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- HBC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- BATTLE GROUND -- Danny Christensen's fourth touchdown pass of the night -- and Andre Washington's third TD catch -- lifted Hudson's Bay to a 32-26 overtime victory Friday against Prairie.

Christensen found Washington with a 25-yard score on the Eagles' first play of overtime, concluding a wild game that saw three lead changes in the second half.

"We haven't won a lot of games," Hudson's Bay coach Steve Stebbins said, "so I was worried about our kids. That's when I started jumping up and down and saying, 'We're alright; there's a lot of time left.'"

The madness started with the second-half kickoff.

Trailing 12-6, Hudson's Bay successfully pulled off an onside kick, which led to a 13-yard scoring run by Ingo Arrozal.

Moments later, a 45-yard TD pass from Christensen to Washington gave the Eagles a 20-12 lead.

But Prairie responded with a 60-yard drive and a failed 2-point try that brought the Falcons within 20-18.

By the time Prairie took over on its own 1-foot line with 2:46 to play in the fourth quarter, the Falcons were faced with a daunting task.

They responded with two passes from Colin Seitz to Avi Slifer that totaled 23 yards, followed by a short pass that Kyle Wiley turned into a 76-yard score.

The drive: Three plays, 99 yards, 26 seconds. The result: A 26-20 Prairie lead.

Following the kickoff, Hudson's Bay answered on the first play with a 69-yard TD pass to Arrozal. When the snap on the extra-point attempt went awry, and the Eagles later missed a 41-yard field-goal try on the final play of regulation, the contest went into overtime.

"The whole team was confident," Christensen said. "We were jacked."

After Prairie missed a field-goal attempt in overtime, Washington ended the game on the Eagles' first play.

"I was just thinking I had to make up for the field goal I missed," he said. "I told the coach I had it on that play."
