Consider it made.
The Colts overpowered the visiting Cougars for their second league win in two tries, 44-6.
Logan's defensive line ruled the night, helping limit the Cougars to 29 net yards rushing and 97 yards passing, 67 of which came during a late Cougars drive when they trailed 44-0.
The night started a bit shaky for the Colts (3-3, 2-0).
In just a scenario Zuber hoped to avoid, senior quarterback Jonathan Willis fumbled in his first series while taking a hit from Kendall Andrews, and the Cougars' Osana Futi
recovered and ran 40 yards to the Logan 4-yard line. However, the Cougars (3-3, 1-1) fumbled right back to the Colts on their second running play.
It was all downhill from there for Newark. After the teams exchanged possessions, Logan marched 86 yards on six running plays and led 7-0 on a 15-yard run by Victor Johnson, who had a game-high 104 yards on nine carries.
Johnson added a 26-yard touchdown run late in the quarter, in which he ran over a Newark tackler at the Cougars 29 and kept going.
The Colts recovered two fumbles, and sophomore linebacker Marjely Taugavau had a 41-yard interception return for a touchdown that made it 44-0 with 7:07 left in the fourth quarter. That came shortly after a 32-yard touchdown strike
on a post pattern from Willis to Joseph Castro.
Castro also made a 34-yard field goal.
Logan's 5-foot-8, 280-pound defensive lineman Mister Simmons had a 1-yard bull rush into the end zone and helped menace sophomore Newark quarterback Chris Flexen all night.
