David Gutman, President of TDL indicated, "We have been working with a number of prime contractors, supporting prototype and pre-production display opportunities that would require additional space and support personnel if and when these programs progress into full production. Several of these prime contractors have already received our prototype and pre-production displays and are in the process of completing qualification testing. A majority of these new program opportunities required a commitment by our management to our prime defense electronics customers that accelerated delivery schedules could be met without production capacity driven disruptions."
Dennis Sunshine, President and Chief Executive Officer of Orbit stated, "The move to a larger facility provides TDL with sufficient space to run a number of high rate production programs, and permits TDL to bring back several manufacturing processes that were previously outsourced, simply due to facility constraints. With this larger facility, TDL should realize significant manufacturing efficiencies while gaining in-house control of customer driven production schedule requirements."
Sunshine concluded, "If we receive production orders for several of these programs, TDL would require additional technical, engineering and manufacturing personnel to support the high rate production requirements. The potential for creating new jobs within the Quakertown, PA. area would be a win-win proposition for both TDL and the community."
