With championship rivals Mohammed Abdulsamad and Shafiq Semujju faring badly in the penultimate race of the championship, Jomayi Property Consultants sponsored Ssebuguzi opened up a 76-point lead ahead of December's Central Motor Club rally.
The 19-year-old Semujju missed out on a podium finish after he suffered a three-minute penalty for early booking. The penalty saw him slip from a possible third to sixth, which eases Ssebuguzi title bid.
Ssebuguzi's victory has earned him co-sponsorship from petroleum company Hass next season. "Unless I am extremely unlucky, the 2009 title is mine," an excited Ssebuguzi stated.
Ponsiano Lwakataka posted the quickest time at the super special stage in Jinja on Friday.
