NEW YORK, Oct 12, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- ABM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- AEG has selected ABM Janitorial Services as the new exclusive provider of cleaning services to two downtown Los Angeles landmarks: STAPLES Center, the premier 20,000-seat arena for sports, entertainment, and other events, and nearby Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, a 7,100-seat venue that hosts popular concerts and other performances and events. ABM Janitorial Services is a subsidiary of ABM Industries Incorporated (NYSE: ABM). ABM, operating through its subsidiaries, is the leading facility services provider in the United States.

The three-year, multimillion-dollar contract began September 19 and will engage approximately 150 ABM Janitorial Services employees per shift for both of the AEG-owned venues.

"Our client service team dedicated to STAPLES Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE is exceptional and ABM is thrilled to be servicing these two legendary venues," said Jim Altieri, Regional Vice President, Operations, ABM Janitorial Services. "We look forward to joining forces on the West Coast with AEG, the leaders in developing and operating world-class facilities."

In keeping with AEG's and ABM's commitment to protecting the environment in their business and operations, ABM staff will use the Company's comprehensive green cleaning program, ABM Green Care(TM), which is designed to help reduce the impact of commercial cleaning on the environment. ABM Janitorial Services is green cleaning more than 150 million square feet of space across the country, and its team at STAPLES Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE will employ that same sustainable, comprehensive solution through ABM Green Care.

"We selected ABM Janitorial Services over several strong competitors because they demonstrated that they understood the scale of the work in addition to sharing our strong commitment to the use of environmentally safe products and practices while having the experience and resources to meet the demands of servicing two of the world's premier venues, STAPLES Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE," said Lee Zeidman, Senior Vice President & General Manager of both STAPLES Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE. "We were also familiar with the quality and commitment that ABM Janitorial brings to the table and look forward to a successful partnership for years to come."

STAPLES Center hosts approximately 240 events every year and is home to four professional sports franchises: the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks, as well as concerts starring the most popular performers today and the annual Pac-10 Men's Basketball Championships and the Grammy Awards. Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE hosts an average of 120 events per year including concerts, family shows and the annual ESPY's, EMMY's and American Music Awards.

Said ABM Industries Executive Vice President Jim McClure: "We are delighted to have this opportunity to deepen our relationship with AEG and look forward to doing our part in providing the best possible experience for the millions of people who attend the world-class events at STAPLES Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE every year."
