NNT, owned by US Newmont Mining Corp. and Japan's Sumitomo Corp. having a copper mine in Nusa Tenggara is required under its contract to sell 14 per cent of its shares to local partners for 2008 and 2009.
PT BA President Sukrisno said the company could provide up to US$54 million to become partner of Antam, also a state mining company to buy the stake from Newmont and Sumitomo.
Meanwhile Antam President Alwinsyah Loebis said the company has not received recommendation from the government to lead a consortium to acquire the stake.
