Kristin Punch, 20, left Buffalo Wild Wings on Catawba Valley Boulevard near Valley Hills Mall at about 10:30 p.m. to go to Petro Express on U.S. 70 to meet a friend, according to police reports.
Punch took a shortcut to get to the gas station, walking behind Hickory Furniture Mart. It was while she was behind the store that two black males in black hoodies grabbed her, the police report states.
The men took Punch to the rear of the building, with one of them holding a small, dark handgun to her head. The other man hit her on the left side of the face twice, then took her money and ID from her pocket, according to the police report.
The men then left on foot, heading toward Applebee's on U.S. 70.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Hickory Police Department at 328-5551.
