Norman Mckay, currently President Eastern Hemisphere of Exterran, a position that he has held since April 2005, is appointed President of Smith Technologies, effective November 1, 2009. Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Yearwood said, "Norrie's extensive global oilfield service experience will enable Smith Technologies to focus on increased technological and business development in high growth areas. His background will complement the capabilities of our management team and position Smith for further expansion of our product and service portfolio. I welcome Norrie to the team and look forward to working closely together."
Prior to his tenure at Exterran, and its predecessor Hanover, Mr. Mckay had been employed by Schlumberger since 1981. During his 24 years with Schlumberger, Mr. Mckay gained extensive experience in field operations as well as general management covering all aspects of the international oil and gas service industry. His work assignments included positions in nine countries across all hemispheres. He holds a Chemical Engineering degree from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. Mr. Mckay will report to John Yearwood and be based in Dubai.
