BRIEF: Arrests in parking lot drug deal

Oct 13, 2009 (The Morehead News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- FDO | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Two people are in police custody after allegedly dealing drugs in the Family Dollar parking lot.

David Hale, 46, of Grayson is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree, and possession of a controlled substance, third-degree. Jessica Bartlett, 29, of West Liberty is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree.

Morehead Police responded to the complaint 2:51 p.m. Sunday afternoon after getting a call about the alleged parking lot drug deal.

According to police reports, the pair was found with several pills and unmarked pill bottles. A large amount of cash was confiscated along with Percosets and Xanax.

This incident is still under investigation by Morehead Police officer Patrick Smith. Both subjects were sent to the Rowan County Detention Center.
