While all Fresenius Medical Care dialysis clinics share the company's UltraCare' mission of delivering excellent care to patients, the company's annual Center of Excellence awards recognize those clinics nationwide that have delivered the highest levels of quality patient care, based on objective measurements of the patients' status. This year's Center of Excellence award winners in Western North Carolina area are:

Each year, fostering a focus on continuous quality improvement, the company recognizes its facilities that are noteworthy in their high achievement of clinical quality outcomes; Certificates of Excellence are awarded based on how the facility performs on multiple objective measures of dialysis clinical quality. The company considers outcome measures such as dialysis adequacy, control of anemia, nutritional status, vascular access, patient satisfaction and transplant education.
