FalconStor announces support for Oracle's server virtualisation platform

Oct 14, 2009 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- FALC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Data protection solutions company FalconStor Software Inc (NASDAQ:FALC) on Tuesday announced FalconStor's comprehensive support for Oracle VM, Oracle's server virtualisation platform.

FalconStor's storage virtualisation and data replication solutions for virtual servers are now integrated and available for Oracle VM, enabling a high level of data protection, recoverability and continuous availability to Oracle virtual environments, the company said.

The FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS) storage virtualisation and provisioning platform integrates with Oracle VM to enable data mobility and centralised storage management for Oracle VM servers. FalconStor Continuous Data Protector (CDP) integrates with Oracle VM deployments to provide WAN-optimised replication and to enable automated and seamless operations failover to a remote disaster recovery site.

Additionally, FalconStor Application Snapshot Director (ASD) for Oracle VM will bring application-consistent data protection to Oracle VM environments, while FalconStor HyperTrac Backup Accelerator works with Oracle Secure Backup (OSB) to provide high-performance, zero-impact backups for Oracle VM servers by offloading backup processes from the virtual server.

FalconStor is a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork of more than 21,000 companies that deliver software solutions based on Oracle software.
