Former champions Rich Morris, Jaxon Brigman and Colby Beckstrom hope that past performances will help them win the $25,000 first place prize.
"Renee (wife) and I are on our own financially this year, so a win here would be nice," admits 2006 Adams Tour champion Rich Morris.
"I'm now working with swing coach EJ Pfeister out of Oklahoma City, and he has me hitting it really good. It's just a matter of making putts."
Morris will use this tournament as a warm-up for the PGA Qualifying School in Florence, SC.
The Islandview Casino Resort Tour Championship boasts a $150,000 purse, richest on the developmental tour.
"We're really excited about having them back," said Tour Director David Lee.
Lee will tee off at 8:50 a.m. and hopes to shake off missing the cut by one shot the last two years.
"I shot even today in the pro-am, so I feel really good about making the cut and making a good showing," Lee said.
Locals Tim McCabe, Jr and Steve Wilson are also scheduled to compete for the largest first place prize on the tour that has launched several PGA Tour careers.
Casey Clendenen, one of the pre-tournament favorites and 11th on the Current Money List, hopes to end the tour on a positive note before heading to Q-School.
"You gotta stay patient out here and hit the ball in the right spot," Clendenen said.
The 2007 US Amateur semi-finalist wants to make a mark before playing his way onto golf's biggest stage.
The top players on the season-long money list will play 36 holes today and Thursday, with a cut to the low 45 players after Thursday's 2nd round.
The Pepsi Junior Clinic, conducted by 2002 Players Championship winner Craig Perks will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The clinic is free to juniors and parents. The Islandview Casino Resort Pro-am was played Tuesday with 144 players taking part in a full day of food and fun.
Emeril's, Longhorn's, Fat Sumo's, Hooters, IP, Mary Mahoney's, Islandview and US Foods set up tents and fed all the golfers, supporting the MGCCC Foundation, Hope Haven and the MGCGA Junior Golf Foundation.
The MS Sales team of Professional Scott Peterson, amateurs Rich Chase, Ryan Conner, and Curt Sales won first place.
