"Diesel supply is now sufficient because of the sluggish demand and gasoline demand has also slid due to the colder weather, suggesting our gasoline and diesel purchase would decrease," said a Sinopec trader.
According to C1 Energy, Sinopec at the beginning of October purchased some gasoline, but a lower volume and at lower prices than in recent months. (See Table 1)
The energy consultancy observed that Sinopec has purchased no diesel at all, and it seems that the firm will look to sell its diesel inventory on the market.
