SIEMENS ENDS JOINT VENTURE WITH JAPAN'S YASKAWA

TOKYO, Oct 20, 2009 (AsiaPulse via COMTEX) --
YASKF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Siemens KK revealed Monday that
it will take full control of a joint venture with Yaskawa
Electric Corp. (TSE:6506) to build numerical control devices.

The Japanese arm of the German industrial conglomerate
acquired Yaskawa's 10 per cent stake in Yaskawa Siemens
Numerical Control Corp., based in Saitama Prefecture, making it
a wholly owned unit on Sept. 30. The acquisition price was not
disclosed.

Siemens will then aborb the unit in December.

Yaskawa is essentially withdrawing from the numerical
controls business, but a spokesperson says the dissolution of
the venture will have little impact on the company.
