Previously such charges have been included in the airline ticket price.
From 1 November 2009 certain airlines will no longer collect passenger charges and passengers booking with these airlines will be required to pay the charges directly to the airport rather than as part of the airline ticket price.
The current process, whereby passenger charges are collected by airlines on behalf of airports, will continue for selected carriers.
GAP will announce by 1 November which airlines will no longer collect passenger charges.
The amount charged to passengers will not be changed.
