Byrns, 23, was killed Sunday evening in a motorcycle collision on Lower Mission Valley Road while coming home from Zeigfest in Yorktown with friends. Four bikes were involved in the crash.
She had been riding motorcycles for less than four months. She purchased a new home in Edna this summer.
"She was very full of life, that was part of the tragedy, but the blessing," said Stanley "Rex" Byrns, her father. "She could be a little wild. She's got too much of her daddy's blood in her."
Byrns will be most remembered as strong-willed. She was home-schooled and finished high school at age 17. She won many awards in 4-H and taught herself dressage riding.
"Megan, she was a generous person, always giving, never really wanting a whole lot back," said Richard Simmons, Byrns' boyfriend.
"She was a perfect woman," her father said.
A family visitation is set for Rosewood Funeral Home on Wednesday night. Funeral service will be Thursday morning at Parkway Church.
