ACTON, Mass., Oct 20, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SEAC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- SeaChange International (NASDAQ: SEAC), a leading provider of software applications, services and integrated solutions to manage, monetize and deliver on-demand video to multiple screens, will highlight its Residential-based Hospitality TV System (RBHS) during next week's SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Denver, Oct. 28-30, demonstrating how cable operators can tap into the hospitality television market with their existing on-demand infrastructure. RBHS is the newest hospitality solution from SeaChange, which today serves on-demand TV to over 200,000 hotel rooms globally.

Leveraging RBHS in conjunction with SeaChange's Axiom On Demand content delivery platform and current residential broadcast feeds, operators can extend core residential services to hotels of any size. The result is a cost-efficient, locally serviced cable proposition that eliminates the need for hotel premises equipment, is free of the constraints of Pro:Idiom conversion, and works with commodity Motorola and Cisco/S-A settop boxes and their native electronic program guides (EPG).

"For years, hoteliers have been held captive by legacy TV solutions that not only require the installation and maintenance of extensive on-site equipment, but also mandate proprietary encryption technology and television sets that are incompatible with commonly deployed settop boxes," said Venkat Krishnan, senior director of worldwide strategic market solutions, SeaChange. "SeaChange RBHS sets up a new paradigm for hospitality television services, making it feasible for the local television service providers to enter the picture with Axiom on Demand capabilities and for hotels of any size to shed old limitations and upsell guest television affordably and confidently."

Operators can employ SeaChange RBHS to offer hotels an individually customized bouquet of on-demand, broadcast and interactive television services, while helping hotels to reduce costs and surpass the typical guest experience. Hotels can provide a branded welcome TV screen where guests can enjoy high-definition broadcast and VOD television programming in addition to services like folio review and express checkout. RBHS also supports critical business functions such as:

-- Dual Billing: Ability to apply charges to the hotel property management system (HPMS) and the MSO billing system

-- Custom Pricing: Flexibility to price hotel and residential content differently

-- Custom Channel Line-ups: Ability to develop unique channel line-ups for different hotel properties

SeaChange has been serving the hospitality industry for nearly 15 years, providing on-demand TV systems, content and services that are supporting more than 200,000 hotel rooms in premier resort destinations such as Atlantic City, Honolulu, and Las Vegas among others. SeaChange will highlight its RBHS and Axiom on Demand platform and applications at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in booth 4088.
