Diluted earnings per share in the third quarter were USD0.12 compared to diluted loss per share of USD1.93 a year ago.
The increase in net income for the third quarter is mainly due to a decrease in the loan loss provision of USD12.4m between the periods.
Net interest income in the third quarter 2009 was USD8.6m, the same as in the third quarter of 2008, while interest income was USD14.3m, down by USD2.1m or 12.5% from USD16.4m for the same period in 2008. Interest income was down primarily because of a decrease in the average yields earned on loans and investments.
