According to the Company, the renewed three-year accreditation status means that Molina Healthcare of New Mexico once again met the criteria for Medicaid managed care organizations established by the NCQA. The "Excellent" rating is the highest accreditation status given to organizations based on their service and clinical quality, which meet or exceed NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement. Organizations with an "Excellent" rating, like Molina Healthcare of New Mexico, demonstrate the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS)* results in the highest range of national performance. The HEDIS is a tool used by more than 90 percent of America's health plans to measure performance on important dimensions of care and service.
"NCQA's Excellent Accreditation status is reserved for the best health plans in the nation," said Margaret O'Kane, president of the National Committee for Quality Assurance. "It is only awarded to those plans, such as Molina Healthcare of New Mexico, that meet or exceed NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement and deliver excellent clinical care."
