Steven Wacaser was arrested Thursday afternoon at the Wal-Mart in Litchfield, according to Bruce Harmening, supervisor of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
Decatur police said Monday that a man had entered the bank, walked to the counter and handed a teller an envelope with a note inside informing her that a robbery was taking place. The note demanded money and the man took an undisclosed amount of cash upon leaving the bank, police said. No weapon was displayed.
Wacaser was a self-employed high school basketball talent scout with a long history of robbery and check fraud convictions. He was sentenced to seven years in prison for robbing two banks in 2001.
