From 4:00pm-6:00pm on Sunday, October 25th, the Sunglass Hut location in Boulder's 29th Street Mall will be transformed into a gallery-like setting featuring an exclusive collection of Jimmy's award-winning photographs from recent expeditions around the world.
Over the past decade, Jimmy has worked closely with acclaimed adventurers, climbers and skiers, documenting everything from first ascents of unclimbed towers in Karakoram to ski descents of breathtaking peaks in the Himalayas. He is one of today's most sought after expedition photographers and his work has appeared in such noted publications as National Geographic Adventure, Men's Journal and Outside Magazine. Additionally, Jimmy is a veteran instructor at The Khumbu Climbing School in Nepal where he encourages responsible, eco-conscious climbing practices.
This highly-anticipated event will be open to the public with complimentary beverages and organically-grown hors d'oeuvres served throughout the evening. Jimmy will be in attendance to sign autographs, meet his fans and conduct interviews with media.
During the event, anyone that purchases a pair of Revo sunglasses will receive a complimentary copy of Galen Rowell: A Retrospective. This tribute book is a $40 value and features 175 images that chronicle Rowell's illustrious career as an adventure photographer, which was cut short in 2002 after he perished in a tragic plane crash.
Sunglass Hut will donate a portion of proceeds raised during the event to the Galen Rowell Fund for Tibet -- a non-profit Jimmy Chin is affiliated with that advocates for the preservation of nature through various philanthropic initiatives.
