Nikkel, from Hillsboro, will leave Weigand on Nov. 1 for a position with Coldwell Banker, his original local employer, in Midland, Texas.
"It's just an opportunity that I could not afford to pass up at this time," Nikkel said today. "I've got zero issues with Weigand."
Gary Walker, Weigand's residential general manager, said the company is sorry to lose Nikkel.
"He's been a very good employee who we've thought very highly of," Walker said.
In July, Nikkel and 42 agents from Stucky & Associates' west office joined Weigand after their original brokerage collapsed.
Stucky & Associates, owned by local broker Frank Stucky, lost the Coldwell Banker flag in a lawsuit over unpaid franchise fees and has since been absorbed by Weigand.
Plaza Real Estate in Wichita assumed the Coldwell Banker flag in the transition.
Nikkel and the agents joined Weigand's office at 2872 N. Ridge.
Nikkel and Walker said none of the 42 agents involved in the Stucky transition will make the move to Midland.
"It's been quite the last 120 days," Nikkel said. "It was my plan when I came to Weigand that this would be my last move for a while.
"You never know what the future might bring, but I hope this is my last move for awhile."
Nikkel joined Stucky & Associates in 2003. He became a broker there in 2004, working in the El Dorado and Augusta offices.
Nikkel took over the west Wichita Stucky office in April 2007.
